How long is the treatment?
The first treatment usually lasts one and a half hours. Subsequent treatment usually lasts 50 minutes to one hour.

What should I bring to the first appointment?
Just bring in your health insurance card and relevant medical history that maybe helpful such as results of blood work, x-rays, or written referral from your doctor.

What should I wear to the first appointment?
You should wear comfortable clothes.

Should I fast before the treatment?
No, you should eat a light meal before treatment. Definitely, you should not be hungry because you may feel very light headed after the treatment.

Does it hurt?
There is a little bit of pain during the initial insertion of the needle. Certain areas of the body maybe more sensitive than other areas such as points on the face is more sensitive than ones on the legs.

What should I avoid doing after a treatment?
You may resume normal activities after a treatment however you should not do anything rigorous after a treatment such as mowing the lawn, or 2 hrs. work-out.

How long before I can see results?
The effectiveness of acupuncture varies from one person to the next. In general, if the condition has been there for a long time then it will take longer to see result. If the condition is relatively new (within 6 months) then the result may take less time.

How often should I have an acupuncture treatment?
If you have not had any acupuncture treatment before then you may need to start with 2 treatments a week then taper to one treatment per week. Once the condition is better manage then we can cut back gradually.
